Medicinal Chemistry department encourages students to participate in activities of all curricula in order to support self-learning and also urges them to review all the new data in the field of specialization and activates the link between the theoretical course and activities.These activities contribute to teaching students self-reliance and create a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm among them. They also help to build positive relationships and new friendships among students.There are various activities carried out by the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department including;-Studying the effect of drug structure on its biological activity by using various scientific sites specialized in drug manufacturing science.-Studying the effect of changing the composition of the drug on the physical and chemical properties.-Presentation of videos explaining different aspects of the scientific content. -Presentation and discussion of posters viewing various topics of the scientific content. -Development of modern methods to help understand and memorise scientific material like mnemonics.-Making activities in cooperation with Pharmacology department to optimise the learning of mutual topics.In addition, the department received expatriate students in 2020 and 2022 from Indonesia, Romania and Palestine. They were given sessions on drug design and synthesis and were given lectures on novel anticancer and anti-diabetes drugs.
