About the Department

  • Department of Pharmaceutical technology specializes in the theoretical and practical study of physiochemical properties for active and inactive substances involved in the composition of pharmaceutical preparations and the effect of those properties on the effectiveness of preparations, as well as the study of different installation methods for solid, liquid, gaseous, and soft forms, sterile and non-sterile, whether at the pharmacy or hospital level or factory. As well as studying quality control, the foundations of good drug composition, and the various tests that are conducted on these preparations to ensure that they comply with the specifications contained in the pharmacopoeia. In In addition to the recognized pharmaceutical standards, and through that, the student gets acquainted with the most important pharmaceutical preparations used locally and globally, as well as the instructions that must be given to the patient in order to use the medicine in the optimal and safe way according to the instructions for that. 
  • The department also provides consultations in the field of pharmaceutical prescriptions and evaluation of the bioavailability and bioequivalence of pharmaceutical preparations. 
  • Department teaches industrial pharmacy courses related to the production of pharmaceutical preparations on an industrial scale, as well as conducting research in the field of the foundations of good pharmaceutical manufacturing as an applied stage necessary for the production of preparations, in addition to developing and raising generations of researchers in this field. The department has a service activity related to the pharmaceutical industry by contributing in solving industrial problems and obstacles presented to him in the production of medicines by pharmaceutical companies and providing technical advice in the field of production and evaluation of pharmaceutical products. 
  • Also teaches and conducts research on modern and advanced pharmaceutical preparations, such as those based on drug manufacturing in the form of nanoparticles that help solve many drug manufacturing problems such as stability, solubility and bio-absorption.
