Academic year 2022-2023
Student's Activities 2022-2023
1. Medicinal Plants
On Thursday, November 12, 2022, the first-level students of the PharmD and Clinical programs visited the medicinal plant farm with buses provided for students.
During the visit, the students got acquainted with the various medicinal plants, knowing their morphological description and some information about each plant. Also, samples were taken from the leaves of different plants for the practical application by making a cross section in each leaf in the faculty laboratories.
2. phytochemistry2
On Thursday, December 8, 2022, the students of the third level, the Pharm-D program, in the laboratories, made a presentation of scientific activities, in the presence of a number of faculty members and their assistants, where each group of students presented a presentation, then the faculty members discussed with the students what was presented.
3. Phytochemistry1
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the students of the second level made a presentation in the department’s laboratories, by collecting different samples of honey from different sources, in order to detect adulterated honey from unadulterated, based on conducting a specialized experiment and based on the results obtained, the students recommended the use of unadulterated samples and advised not to use adulterated ones.
4. Pharmacognosy 2
On Monday, December 5, 2022, the second level students of the Clinical and PharmD programs presented their student activities in the presence of a number of faculty members and their assistants. It includes scientific research that reveals new uses and the medicinal value of medicinal plants and active substances, also explaining the dosage form in the pharmaceutical market, as well as linking between the known uses of medicinal plants, specifically seeds, fruits and roots, and describing them in a pharmacological form in pharmacies and developing students’ skills in scientific research and activating interaction and communication between students in laboratories.
5. Pharmacognosy 2
The students of the first level of the Clinical and Pharm programs brought random samples of plant leaves located in the university campus, in order to identify the apparent (morphological) characteristics of them and also to identify the most important anatomical characteristics, using the electronic microscope, in addition to conducting some chemical experiments to identify the types of active substances present in these plants. This is for practicing of what students have studied during the semester, developing students’ skills in scientific research, activating cooperative education, communication between students in laboratories, and developing the ability to work in groups.
